How to Enroll
Step 1: Pick a plan
Health Net offers the Salud HMO y Más (Health and More) plan for CalPERS Basic members. This HMO plan connects you to a network of local, trusted providers and hospitals, with a primary care physician (PCP) who helps coordinate your care.
Salud HMO y Más is designed to offer simple, predictable coverage, including:
- $0 medical deductibles
- Fixed copayments for most services
- No claim forms to file (except for emergency out-of-network care)
- No referral needed to see an OB/GYN within your medical group
- Access to outpatient behavioral health services without a PCP referral
- Acupuncture and chiropractic coverage through American Specialty Health Plans, Inc. (ASH)
- Optional cross-border care through the SIMNSA network in Northern Mexico
- $0 copayment for Teladoc Health virtual visits

Step 2: Choose a doctor
When you enroll in Salud HMO y Más, you'll select a primary care physician (PCP) or participating physician group (PPG) within the plan's provider network. Your PCP will be your main point of contact and will help coordinate your care. Each family member can choose a different PCP or medical group.
To find a provider:
- Use Health Net's Find a Provider tool
- Log in first for the most accurate results
- Confirm your location is within the Health Net CalPERS service area
- Select Salud HMO y Más (CalPERS members only) to view in-network providers
Once you find a provider, note the doctor's name, medical group, and 6-digit Provider ID number. You'll need this information to complete your enrollment through the my CalPERS website.
